Ardnavaha House, Clogagh

This is a Georgian Period Mansion set in a picturesque valley surrounded by mature trees and even an old castle ruin in the distance. There are tiered lawns sloping down from the front to the foot of the valley where there is a small ornamental pond. The interior has the expected large rooms with some period furniture and the courtyard attached has an open air swimming pool and traditional stone sheds around it. The mature trees in the drive are spectacular and very photogenic and there is a lovely croquet lawn and old tennis court on the site as well.

The owners are very film friendly and can also help with hire of horses, riders and boats/yachts of various sizes. There is a modern holiday apartment block attached at one side, so framing establishers from this angle takes a little care. The nearby Kilmaloda Protestant Church is also a very pretty location and the two together make for a good place to film a variety of scenes.
