Locations > Ballinterry House
Nestled in Bride Valley Ballinterry House gracefully stands as it has for some three centuries. A beautiful historic house (listed but also a National Monument) and reputedly to be the oldest continually inhabited house in Ireland – one could almost expect to see Elizabeth Bennett sitting at one of the windows waiting for Mr D’Arcy to call ! Restored by Ann & Michael, the house has been complimented by the Irish eorian Society as one of the most sympathetically restored house they have seen. Ballinterry is surrounded by some five acres of land much of which is very pretty woodland boasting a vast array of bluebells in late Spring. Now run as a high end B&B it offers itself as a wonderful location for a period film or drama.
