Locations > Inis Beg

Inish Beg is a beautiful private island estate in West Cork; with a stone bridge connecting Inish Beg to the mainland, a few miles from the thriving market town of Skibbereen and the idyllic little port of Baltimore with its sailing, fishing and diving centres.  Fanned by the warm currents of the Gulf Stream, the island enjoys an idyllic setting in a micro climate which supports unusual species of flora and fauna.

Inish Beg estate has been sympathetically restored to its former glory over the past 12 years by owners Georgiana and Paul Keane.  Set in 97 acres of wooded ground, organic farm land, and landscaped gardens in the River IIen Estuary Inish Beg offers a wonderfully diverse range of rural scenery in just one location. There are nine holiday homes attached to the property. Visitors are welcome to view the gardens when open to the public each summer, (featured in “100 Best Gardens of Ireland” by Liberty Press.)

Inish Beg House, built in the 1890’s, has been lovingly restored and overlooks a sunken garden with views to the estuary. To the rear, within the Victorian walled garden is the Inish Beg full length indoor swimming pool, complete with sauna, steam room and a small gymnasium.
