The Historic Town of Midleton in East Cork, has its origins dating back to the 12th century.  The largest Town in East Cork, it is a busy and thriving market town with a long Main Street lined with some beautiful Georgian and Victorian public buildings plus traditional shop fronts and even the odd castle!

Midleton is the hub of East Cork, with its rich agricultural hinterland. It has long been renowned for fine food and drink. One of its prime attractions is the Jameson Heritage Centre, which welcomes tourists from around the world with a complimentary glass of Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Legend has it that it was here in Ireland that whiskey was invented. To this day, some of the finest whiskey is distilled by the Irish and every year thousands of visitors come to Midleton to taste the particularly good flavour of Jameson’s whiskey for themselves. This beautiful 18th century distillery has been carefully and lovingly restored.
