Priests Leap, Bantry

The Priest’s Leap is an incredibly steep, winding single track road that goes right across the Cork & Kerry Mountains and is truly stunning – one of the most dramatic places in the whole of the County, with breathtaking natural views both up the steep valley and down across the expanse of Bantry Bay.

You will hardly meet a person or a car here, but if it’s wild, upland dramatic scenery you are looking for, this is the perfect place. Only 15 minutes from Bantry Town it’s difficult to believe such dramatic scenery exists so close to the greenery below.
The raw, natural beauty and lack of telephone or electricity wires makes it ideal for filming historical pieces or rural stories. This really is a World apart and must be seen.
