Locations > Shanagarry

Shanagarry, meaning Old Garden, is the birthplace of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania State.  No more than a one street village with a Pub & a Church, it is a good example of a very small East Cork Irish Village

It is now more famous for Ballymaloe House and Darina Allen’s Cookery School and Gardens. In the village is the gallery of renowned potter, Stephen Pearce.

Shanagarry has clean sandy beaches ideal for swimming, angling and is a paradise for birdwatchers.
