Tivoli was a well-to-do area for British naval personnel in the 18th & 19th Centuries and still has some fine Georgian & Victorian residences. However, the riverside is now occupied by this major site which combines a modern Container Terminal, roll on, roll off, bulk liquid and general purpose docks. Its proximity to the Centre and nice setting makes it attractive to film makers for all sorts of drama, documentary or news scenes.
